Mankato will again be hosting the world-famous
United States Air Force THUNDERBIRDS on Sat., June 15th and Sun., June 16th at the Mankato Regional Airport for the 2019 Minnesota Air Spectacular! BENCHS has committed to helping by providing volunteers. ALL OPPORTUNITIES HAVE BEEN FILLED! Volunteer benefits include: Free admission to this incredible event, food voucher, and an opportunity to raise funds for BENCHS. This year, they are hoping to be able to donate at least $15+ per half-day volunteer. That could mean... $15 per person = 2 microchips $225 per shift = 18 rabies vaccinations $450 per day = 8 female cats spayed $900 for the weekend = 2 dogs' lives saved from heartworm disease To volunteer, sign up here: https://www.benchs.org/volunteer-calendar.html *Youth Volunteers: Ages 10-14 must be with an adult chaperone. VOLUNTEERS:
To those of you who have volunteered to work at the air show this coming weekend, you should have received an email from BENCHS today filled with information about what to do when you arrive at the airport. You should also receive another one tomorrow with additional updates. Our emails are often filtered into promotional or spam folders. Please look for both emails before your shift(s). Questions can be sent to info@benchs.org. The organizers of the air show encourage you to wear a t-shirt representing BENCHS.
If you don't have one, these will fit the bill and will be ready for the event! The deadline for ordering the Team BENCHS t-shirt has passed,
but we did purchase some extras! We also have some of our black t-shirts available at the shelter. Both can be purchased (with exact cash) during the scheduled pick-up times. T-shirts will be available for pick up at BENCHS on June 13th and 14th from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
